Guild Rules and Regulations: Topics: 1. Guild Information 2. Guild Structure 3. Add-On Programs We Use 4. Raiding 5. Guild Ranks 6. Loot Distrubtion (DKP) 7. Alt Rules 8. Progression Information 1. Guild Information The guilds main purpose to exist is to run the end-game raid instances. To this end all activities that we do are aimed at improving our gear and/or raiding skills. As a member of The Exodus we expect you to strive to improve your characters gear and your understanding of your character and the raids that we are currently working on. You can find out more information on the Raids we are currently running under section 4: Progression Information. This being said we also all play the game to have fun! What does this mean for a raiding guild? Well primarily that we hope you enjoy the challenge and rewards of raiding. However, we also understand that a balanced gaming life and real life is required to prevent gamer burn-outs and also that you will also want to do other things in the game sometimes. However, we are a raiding guild and this should be your primary focus. 2. Guild Structure The guild is setup with representatives from each role (Healing, Tank, DPS). There is also the GM, the second in command, and the Raid Support officer positions. What does this mean for the guild? This means that each role will have an Advisor who will represent them and should be able to help you with any problems/concerns directly related to your role. If there are any questions they cannot help you with, or you cannot get a hold of them you may contact any other Advisor, the GM, or the GM Support Person. Now in terms of policy, decisions, etc… this council will make all decisions that are not life changing for the guild. We will always try to get the input of the guild for major changes to the information contained in this post. This input will be gathered from guild meetings, which will usually take place prior to raids. If you miss a meeting you will miss the decision. We realize you may have concerns about the decisions made and you may approach any officer to voice your concerns and we will do our best to address them. 3. Add-On Programs We Use All Add-On Programs that we use are listed under the Download section of the guild webpage and should be retrieved from there to ensure you have compatible versions. Currently, we are using several required Add-On programs or stand-alone applications to assist us in-game. These are listed below: Ventrillo – This is a VOIP (Voice over IP) application that allows us to talk to each other in game as opposed to having to type everything Omen – This is a great threat monitoring add-on that allows you to see the amount of threat generated on a target versus everyone else in the group/raid. This is extremely useful to ensure DPS/Healing does not steal agro from the Tanks. Also Omen is superior to other threat monitoring tools as it tracks mobs by name. DBM/BigWigs - These are extremely useful add-ons for the raid encounters. You should have this installed to increase your survivability on raids. It will let you know when bosses are about to do their specials. 4. Raiding Supporting the Guild’s primary goal of raiding we have a few rules you need to follow if you want to raid with the guild. Failure to meet these rules on a consistent basis will result in a review of your raider rank and/or membership with the guild. 1. You must be willing to re-spec if asked by the guild to support the raid. These will always be given with justifications of why we need you to be in the spec we ask for. 2. You must follow the raid leaders instructions without hesitation during a raid encounter. You will be given a chance to give feedback/suggestions before and after an encounter, however, during a run it is imperative that we have co-ordination between all members. 3. You must ensure that all of your gear is fully enchanted and gemmed to the maximum extent possible. 4. For boss encounters it is required that you have flasks/elixirs, food, and any other buffs that increase the effectiveness of your character. 5. You should be fully prepared for the nights runs with Health/Mana pots, repair money, etc… 6. We fully expect you to have an understanding of all Boss encounters that may be attempted during a given raid. You should understand what the Boss could do and how it affects you and your role in the group and what you can do to minimize its impact on the raid. 7. Attencance is crucial, along with being ontime or early for raids fully stocked and ready to go at the summoning stone. These rules are a general guideline to raiding with the guild and in 90% of situations they stand. We do understand that occasionally you may have a problem meeting 1 or more of these rules. [For example, you are switching from Scryer to Aldor = no shoulder enchant] 5. Raid Ranking System We have decided to implement a ranking system for our Raiders. The primary purpose of this system is to give us (the Officers and GM) a better idea of where everyone in the guild is at in terms of Gear and Experience. Our goal is to reward those who have worked really hard to upgrade their gear and skills, and also to encourage those who haven't to do so. The Ranking System works as follows... Guild Ranks Alt - This is an alternate character of a player in the guild. They are not entitled to raid in any Progression based raids. They may only raid in non-progression raids if their main is a Raider Casual or higher. New Recruit - This is a new player to the guild who is somewhere in their 3 week trial period. New recruits may bid on items, however, if any Raider Casual or higher also bids they auto-pass. Upon successfull completion of their trial period their DKP will be adjust based on the following formula: [Current DKP] + ((1- [Current DKP] / [Max DKP]) * 750) Member - This is a non-raiding member of the guild. This player may not raid in any progression raid night unless the guild has a specific need. This player has demonstrated that they either cannot make our raiding schedule, have not put the effort into upgrading their gear, or consistently show a lack of knowledge about the encounters, game, etc... Raider Casual - This is a player who makes on average 3 Progression Raid nights a week. Functionally speaking there is no difference between Raider Casual and Raider Elite. The only difference is that it is possible that depending on the Raider Casual's schedule we may attempt to recruit another player to share their position in the guild to ensure class/spec coverage in our raids. Raider Elite - This is a player who makes on average 4 or 5 Progression Raid nights a week. Member to Raider Transition If you are currently ranked as a Member in the guild and you wish to start raiding with the guild you must first speak with Mavsteele or Levia. This will initiate a process by which you can earn a spot in the raids again. You will be demoted to a rank of "New Recruit" and will begin a 3-week trial period. You will be reviewed and evaluated throughout this period and if you fail to live up to expectations you will be removed from the guild completely. This may sound harsh, but it is designed to ensure you are serious about raiding. We are at a point in progression where non-serious raiders cannot hope to keep up and the guild cannot commit its resources to dragging you through content. This is a second chance system and I hope you all see it that way. Raid Precedence Now because of the rankings our goal is to give some people priority over others when it comes to the raids. The purpose of this is not to exclude but to ensure the successful completion of all raids and speed up the progression of the guild. Alt - May only raid Non-Progression nights and may only do so if their main has a rank of Raider Casual or higher. New Recruit – May participate in all raids, however, they may only participate on their main character. Any alts that are in the guild are not eligible to raid on Progression or Non-Progression content. Member - No Precedence. May only participate in Progression raids if the guild specifically requires them on a Progression night. They may still participate in Non-Progression raids. Raider Casual / Raider Elite - May participate in all raids 6. Loot Distribution (DKP) The guild has moved to a DKP system for 25-man raids. This means that DKP will be earned for the 25-man raids. DKP will be awarded for the following events: Start of the Raid, Boss Kill, End of the Raid, as well as hourly DKP. You will have an opportunity to spend your DKP on any item within reason (as a basic example, a Mage cannot roll on a tanking drop). The "within reason" will be established by a common consensus of the Officers. Raiding Schedule: All Raids are from 7 - 10:30* PM Unless otherwise specified. *On some occassion we do expect you to remain later than ending time. We will attempt to keep these to a minimum. Fri, Sat -> Non-DKP Raids (Karazhan, Gruul, Mag, ZA) Sun - Thurs -> DKP Raids (SSC, TK, Hyjal, BT, Sunwell) Earning DKP: DKP is earned by attending the 25-man raids the guild goes on. Our current raiding schedule can be found above in this post. You will earn DKP for being there on time and prepared at the start of the raid, for each boss kill, for being present at the conclusion of the raid, as well as receiving DKP on an hourly basis. NOTE: If you are not online and in the raid group you will receive 0 DKP Point Distribution is as follows: (This will be updated as we progress to new bosses) 2 DKP at the start/end of each Raid 1 DKP for SSC/TK/Hyjal/BT/Sunwell Bosses 2 DKP for Hourly DKP Depreciation: In order for your DKP to not depreciate you must make a minimum of 3/5 Progression Raid nights each week. If during any given week you fail to make the minimum number of raids required you will lose 2% of your Net DKP for every day you missed below 3. (i.e you miss 3 raids you lose 2%, you miss 4 raids you lose 4%, you miss all raids you lose 6%). The purpose of this is to encourage you to show up on a regular and consistent basis. This will allow us to make more consistent Raid Groups and progress easier through content. Remember 3/5 Progression Raid nights is quite low and in most progression guilds not meeting those requirements would be an instant guild removal. Our policy is quite relaxed in comparison. Spending DKP: You will be permitted to spend your DKP on almost any item you want. There will be some restrictions on purchasing items to ensure that people do not buy things they will never use because a better drop is available. For main spec purchases your Bid to DKP Cost ratio is 1.0 for off-spec purchases your Bid to DKP Cost is 1.5. This means if you bid 30 DKP for a main spec item you pay 30 DKP, if it's for your off-spec you pay 45 DKP. This is to discourage people from taking off-spec items from people who may need them for their main spec. If no main spec player bids against you on an item you do not suffer the off-spec DKP cost. It should be noted that you may only bid on an item if you have at least the Minimum Bid requirement for the item being auctioned off. You may bid more DKP than you have, but you will go into Negative DKP and will be unable to bid again until you have sufficient DKP. You will initiate your request to bid on an item by whispering the Raid Leader (The Raid Leader will only wait for approximately 15 seconds). You will only have until the Raid Leader confirms all requests in to indicate your desire to bid. Once all requests to bid are in, the bidding will start in order established by the Raid Leader (the order is based on a first request first bid). Bidding is open but is subject to a few rules. Firstly, once you pass you are out and cannot bid again. Secondly, every time the bidding starts over the minimum bid increment goes up by 1. Finally, if 2 or more people bid the maximum buyout price of an item, the item is awarded to the person with the highest Net DKP (if there is a tie there will be a roll-off). Once you win an item you will be deducted that amount of DKP (the DKP will not be zero summed to the raid group). If no one puts in a request to bid on the item within the set time, then the minimum bid will be halved and the process will start over. If at this point no one is willing to bid then the item will be sharded. The purpose of this is to ensure that upgrades are taken even if they are minor. Note that the Maximum bid is unchanged. Excessive manipulation of the "half" DKP rule will result in you being charged Min DKP anyway (i.e. Best in Game item but you are the only one who can use it and you let it go to half). Also please note your guild rank comes into play here a bit. New Recruits will auto-pass on all loot if a Raider Casual or higher bids on it. Costs of Items in DKP: (Min/Max) W = Weapons, A = Armour (includes Shields, off-hands, wands) Mag/Gruul/Mulgar/Karazhan/Zul'Aman Non-DKP Raids. All loot is rolled on. Main (Main Spec) before Alts. Alts are equal to Off-spec gear. The Eye/SSC T5 Tokens: 20/60 W: 15/45 A: 10/30 Trash: 10/30 Nether Vortex: 4/12 Hyjal /BT T6 Tokens: 50/150 Gems: * Hearts of Darkness: 5/15 W: 40/120 A: 25/75 *Gem Rules: You may put gems in any T6 equivalent gear that you get. You are restricted to 1 Crimson Spinel per loot item. Once you get a drop you must seek out Levia to request your gems. This must be done the same night you get the loot. Failure to do this forfeits your gems. 7. Alt Rules In support of all previously mentioned rules and regulations, Alts are considered by the guild as a distraction to raiding. A means for you to remain sane and explore new areas of the game that perhaps your main character does not allow you to. The guild will help you, as much as it can, to gear up your alt and enjoy the game on them as well, however, your main character is our primary concern. Therefore we have introduced the following rules, which will be strictly enforced. a) We have a zero tolerance for QQ on your alt not getting into runs. If your alt does not have the gear or you do not have the experience playing the character you will not get into a raid. We will carry a main through events in the hopes of improving the player/character and make them better, however, we will not carry alts through end game content. You must meet the requirements of the raid to be eligible to be in the raid. If you feel that you do meet the requirements and you were wrongly excluded please contact an officer and/or the GM. b) Excessive QQ about your alt and raids, alt not getting runs, alt not getting support, or pressuring mains to run your alt through raids, etc… will result in a 1-month ban on your alt from all raid encounters. This does not mean that if you are being treated unfairly that you should keep quiet, you should by all means contact your role officer and/or the GM. This rule is in place to protect main characters that may want to focus on something else during non-DKP raid nights. It is not their responsibility to gear up your alt. Further to this rule, withholding your main from progression-based raids where the guild needs your support will extend the duration of your alts ban by 1-week. The ending date of your alts ban will be stored in the officer notes. c) Your alt will only be eligible for non-DKP raids if you main raiding character has made a minimum of 3/5 progression raiding nights the previous week. (This equates to a rank of Raider Casual or higher) d) If your main character needs upgrades from a non-DKP instance we fully expect you to bring them in as opposed to your alt. Your main should be your main priority. Please remember that being courteous to your fellow guild members and respecting them will ensure a smoother operation of the guild as a whole. If a fellow guild member is on their alt doing things and they come on their main to help you remember it and return the favor when they ask. Please try to look at what everyone is doing for you and your alts rather than what they are not doing. In closing on the Alt subject please remember that your main character should be your primary concern as well. Only in rare circumstances will the guild allow you to switch an alt to a main. We have built the guild on balance and we need everyone to play the class they were recruited on for progression-based raids. 9.
